The Iyendwe Dispensary is located in the village of Iyendwe, Momba district. It was constructed with the support of a Family Aid project financed by WHO in the beginning of the 1970's. The main goal when establishing the dispensary was to bring services to remote areas and therefore give people with limited means the ability to save on time and money to travel to the next bigger health facility. It was also established to reduce preventable maternal and neonatal deaths at the village level. The main services provided are reproductive and child health, treatment of minor health problems as well as provision of health promotion. The facility employs four people; one clinical assistant, one nurse/midwife and two medical attendants.
