Utengule Theological College

The Utengule Theological College was established in 1954, based on the Moravian Biblical College, which was founded by German missionaries at the end of the 19th century. It is located in a quiet and peaceful area, surrounded by the beautiful environment of Utengule, which is just seven kilometres outside of Mbalizi.

We offer the following courses:
  • Certificate in Theology - Duration: 3 years
  • Certificate for Evangelists / Bible Training - Duration: 2 years
  • Certificate in Music (special course)
  • A diploma course is expected to start in August 2019

In March 2019, approximately 70 students are registered in our College. Women are most welcome to apply, to support the current female students. We also encourage students of other congregations to apply. Access is not restricted to Christians of the Moravian Church.

We offer a variety of facilities which aim to improve the experience of studying at our college. There is a library, equipped with approximately 2'000 books to support teaching and learning. There is a computer lab, and last but not least, there are dormitories for men and women which allow you to stay directly on the compound of the college.
Fish Pond
The fact that the college is situated on a large area (more than 15 acres) allows us to run a lot of income generating projects. The college maintains its own agricultural production, including cows, pigs and farms for mais, beans, bananas and vegetables. Furthermore we have our own fish pond, where we produce fish as an excellent protein source.
